So you wake up in the morning, get ready for work and sit in front of the television before you have to get to work. Once you’re at work you start thinking about what you’ll watch when you get home. When you take your lunch break you try and get the television to yourself in the break room, and then you get home at night and get on the couch and watch TV until you are ready for bed. Then this hits you: you watch far too much TV. It’s a problem you and the rest of the world has and it’s good that you are finally owning up to it. So what can you do to stop the endless amount of television you watch? How can you help yourself?
The first thing you need to do is cut the fat. There are some television shows that you would rather never be without. However, there are also a fair share of television that you watch just as background noise or because you are plain bored. Well now is the time to cut out the excess TV. Pick two or three programs that are essential for you to watch. The ones that you can’t live without and then move on.
Find a replacement. Sitting on your couch staring at a blank TV is no way for you to spend your nights and it will only bring you back to TV. What you should be doing is replacing it with something constructive like an at home project, exercise, reading a book, or finally going back to school with elearners.com. Once you replace this dead time with something constructive you’ll feel much better about yourself and you’ll be able to stick with the decision.
The TV is a great recreational and relaxation activity but there are better ways to spend your time so make sure you are making the most of your time away from TV.
